Lock gates
Lock gates "AKTO-X"
The lock gates “AKTO-X” are used in order to stop the flow in a rectangular canal. On the walls of the canal adaptors are installed for the fitting and sinking of the lock gate, up to the obstruction point. The smooth movement of the lock gate is performed manually or alternatively automatically from the control panel. An “AKTO-X” lock gate is an excellent solution when there is a need for stopping the flow of water or waste in a canal.
Each lock gate is constructed so that it can be attached to the adaptors on the walls of a rectangular canal. The main parts of a lock gate are:
1. The casing with the glide mechanism
2. The body of the lock gate with the sealed ribbons
3. The movement mechanism
The casing. It is made of stainless steel and it is fixed on the walls of a canal. It is shaped like the Greek letter Π and the lock gate glide inside it.
The body of the lock gate. It is a rectangular construction made of stainless steel. Several bars are welded on to the surface of the lock gate in order to enhance its mechanical strength. Sealed ribbons are attached on each side of the lock gate.
The movement mechanism. It is responsible for the vertical movement of the lock gate in the casing. The mechanism consists of:
a. The movement shaft
b. The movement mechanism with the control
c. The metallic base for supporting the movement mechanism.
